Art and Caravans

I know this subject was raised before but I was wondering has anyone thought to take it any further, I will be going to the Malvern’s in October to combine a love of music with caravanning as the C&CC band will be playing at the Blackmoore C&CC site Nr Gt Malvern.
I had just read an article http://www.practicalcaravan.com/features/painting.html about someone combining her love of camping and caravanning with an art class and it reminded me that we had mentioned this before on this forum about combining Art class with a camping weekend.
Just completed three monochrome illustrations for my book it was a good exercise in controlling tone as I used only a black watercolour pencil with water and brush see original watercolour section on my website www.stu-artpage.co.uk

Re: Art and Caravans

Hi Stu
Now that we have our camper van and have been out in it a few times, i can tell you, the thought has crossed my mind several times. the only drawback with oil painting would be the huge amount of stock and materials i'd have to take with me, it'd never fit in the motorhome.
at least with watercolour you can sit a do it on your lap.
i did take along some canvases on my last trip and thoroughly enjoyed painting in acrylics. perhaps i'll take some extra bits with me on the next trip and see if anyone might be interested in some acrylic painting.
