GAGAH Dog Talk

Welcome to our forum. Feel free to post a message.

In order to keep the forum easy to follow it would help to follow the 'thread' approach for topics.

This means that if, for example, someone has started a discussion about dog diet, and you want to make a comment about diet, that you go into that discussion and use the 'reply' button, rather than start a new topic which is what happens if you use 'post'

If we don't take that approach we will end up with dozens of single topics and no conversations.

Message:   Hi folks,

We have had a few tough weeks here with Emer. Over the Easter hols she developed a really bad limp in her front left paw that had Uncle Neil in Banchory very worried. X-rays of Emer's spine highlighted an abnormality at the bottom of one of the vertebrae in her neck. Uncle Neil said no walks and passed on her details to a specialist back home in Fife and we saw them today.

The vet picked up that her problem doesn't seem to be in her spine/neck after all but a good old corn in one of her paw pads.

She will be having a quick op tomorrow to remove it and may face having to have her toe amputated.

The vet at St Monans said that he has seen this problem many times before in racing Greys and has seen a few put to sleep as a result.

We are so pleased that she only has to have an op on her foot rather than her spine and we are sure she will be back to her usual self flying around the park very soon.

Just wanted to let you all know about the problem as it could be one to watch out for in the future!!

Emer will let you know how she got on when she gets home.
