Howdy Mike!
Long time no email. :) Good to see you on the Forum! Yep, an iMac! :) Man, I couldn't be happier. The iMac already has disability tools built in...a screen reader, screen magnifier as well as a contrast setup for low vision folks. It is also set up to be able to recognize and use assistive devices such as switches, aug com devices, etc... I haven't played with it enough yet but supposedly it has a text to speech setup too like Dragon Dictate. One cool thing it does have too is Bluetooth! :) I've used it with my headset to do some voice chatting, etc... Way cool! Linux is fun to tinker with but useless for anything serious in my opinion. I've got a copy of it set up as a virtual machine on the iMac and I'm just not impressed. Buggy and incompatible. But then free is free, I guess.
Far as the phone goes, I'm actually considering getting rid of the toll-free and going to VOIP or online chat. The toll-free adds to overhead and I am looking at cost cutting wherever I can. With fuel/product prices through the roof I'm trying to keep from having to raise prices any time soon. I HAVEN'T gotten rid of the toll-free yet but am studying the idea.
As far as Amtrak goes, I'd love to take a trip on Amtrak! I did when I was in 8th grade to DC from Cincinnati but accessibility was an issue.
