It is interesting to here what our hobbies and interest are we all are different yet the same.
Gimwet: where do you play?
We my wife and my self use to go to craft shows a lot and I loved the music but I can’t play a note that is a talent I just don’t have. In our town once a week in one of the parks they have bands playing this goes on in the summer and we go to a lot of them and most are very good.
RMS: now I can understand what you do I also like good sound and love to work around the house or use to but now it is just to hard out of a wheelchair.
You would have loves my machine shop I was a gunsmith for 21yrs. I had several laths, 2 milling machines, surface grinders and drill presses everything you would expect to see in a well equip machine shop. I also had a full wood working shop but I sold everything when I came down with CIDP and could no longer use it, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
My full time job I was a maintenance machinist millwright. I repaired machines as big as a house and do I miss doing it. I have been on disability for 12yrs now and still miss working I really liked my job like you said being a mister fix it. Where I worked I got sent all over the country to fix and rebuild machines including making parts if we could not get them. We did everything from electronics to hydraulics, pneumatics to complete rebuilds.
Being a gunsmith was my second job I did it in my home and had so much work I could not keep up with it.
Now in my younger years I raced motorcycles flat track and TT and road racing those were the good days.
Now I am into photography which I can do form van or form my power chair but it eeps me busy.
I also like computers and have built many for friends but anymore it cost more to build than buy.
Like Gimwet: I don’t let incontinence get in the way of my hobbies and social life.
