Darts Quiz Question #12

The numbering layout on a dart board was devised by Brian Gamlin in 1896. Mathematically, how many different number layouts are possible ?

Re: Darts Quiz Question #12

There are 2432902008176640000.00 if you move all combinations around the board.
If you want combinations with a fixed number e.g. the 20 stays in the same spot there are 121645100408832000.00.
If you start at the 20 there is 19 possible combinations in the #1 area then 17 in the #18 area then #16 in the 4 area and so on.

19x18x17x16x15x14x13x12x11x10x9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1= 121645100408832000.00

If you multiply this by 20 it will give 2432902008176640000.

Saying all this I had trouble converting AUD to THB so I guess it could be anything.

Re: Darts Quiz Question #12

Mathematically there are 121,645,100,408,832,000 possible layout combinations. (I was prepared to accept 19 or "Zillions")
Well done Andrew !! Even the teachers amongst us were fairly stumped on this one.
Poor Harry, I hope you never have to shoot a 39 to finish if all you are allowed to shoot at is 1, 20 & 5.

Re: Darts Quiz Question #12

I read it more closely Harry. 37 1's consecutively. That is some feat in itself.
Could it be done by onyone in the LSDL fun league or premier?
