Darts Quiz Question #13

The left hand side of a dart board has proportionately more high numbers grouped together than the right hand side – ie 16, 8, 11, 14, 9 & 12.
What is the nickname for this region of the board ?

Re: Darts Quiz Question #13

The left side of the board is called the "married man's side". The left side has more large numbers and if you want to have more consistent scores, you shoot the left side of the board. A married man always plays the safer route. Hence the nickname! Thanks Paul, aka Dartoid for the secret help !

Thanks Paul. Sorry I won't get to have a Singha with ya. Harry, Grant and Jake. If you want to venture to the Medalist Asia Tournament in Bangkok on Dec 5-7, I would like to buy you a beer or two or three, etc. Paul can vouch for me .

Harry- played briefly at the Silver last night and was simply outstanding

Witkowski's not so good looking twin was there as was Keiran, Taxi and the gang.

Dragon I think my invitation to play in that tournament must have been lost in the mail

Re: Darts Quiz Question #13

Nickname for this region of the board ? "Married Man's Side" sounds logical but I would call it the "Defeated Shooter's Side" other than when necessary to get your best check out option. The old adage I've heard - "go downstairs" (19) when not hitting well up top only bolsters my confidence against an opponent when I see him lose confidence at throwing at the twenty and go downstairs.

Dragon, looking forward to meeting you and your crew in December for the Medalist Tournament. Many thanks for your email reply - checkout the upcoming DT Newsletter. Met Scotty last time in CA and look forward to some darts and tipping a few when you guys are here.

Met Lee Peppard tonight and got a photo of him and Thai Champ Natthakhom. My usually impeccable New Jersey English was more than a bit flawed tonight as a result of last night's meeting with me and me darts teacher Mr. Jack Daniels. Jack, Me and a few of the boys finished a darts session at 5 AM. But will meet again on a more sober meeting with Lee while he's here in Bangkok.

Beware Medalist Tournament participants - Jayke's already gone out and purchased a large globe to be placed out of eyesight of the board to distract opponents with geography questions while in competition - his darts secret weapon method. Only problem is no one told Jayke that Medalist boards automatically keep score and he can't bribe the score keeper.

Re: Darts Quiz Question #13

Yes indeedy, the left hand side of the dart board is nicknamed “The Married Man’s Side”– because.......... married men always play it safe.

I wonder if there is a married woman's side - oh yeah, I guess that would have to be "The Backside".
