WMC
I was just thinking of the walleye opener. When I checked the results from last years WMC. And was wondering, where are the local experts? Why were they not in this tournament? Big pay out! easy money for an expert, I would think. http://www.masterswalleyecircuit.com/youngstown.asp |

Hi Big Bob! Thanks for your interest. The local experts you were inquiring about were all there and in fact they were for the most part, the money winners! Local Anglers Jim Janese [Youngstown NY] & Steve Levering [Niagara Falls NY] were first place finishers. They were awarded a total of $8,090 for their efforts PLUS $500.00 for the largest fish entered. [10.26 pounds] Local Father & Son team Eric Elenfeldt and 13 year old son Eric Jr. from North Tonawanda, weighed in 5 fish for the tournament to take in second place and $3,942.00 in cash. There were lots of other local winners from Niagara Falls, Ransomville, Appleton, Fort Erie Ontario, Welland Ontario, just to name a few. [all local river people] All fishermen fished under very adverse weather and water conditions. This Outdoors Niagara website has all the information..... Story write-up, photos and full report from our local outdoor writer. Just go to the link below. Your question was a good one and maybe it helped others out too! Many Thanks Again, Mark CLICK THE LINK TO GO for your information: http://www.outdoorsniagara.com/cabelas.htm This link can be found on our homepage too. "Be an Outdoors Niagara Booster"

Thanks Mark, What I should have said was, where are the Guides and Charter Captains. You know the ones that give seminars on how to fish walleye in the lower river. Were any of them even in it? Just asking. Bob

Hi Big Bob. Levering is a Charter Captain I believe! He is one helluva walleye fisherman for sure. I can get his information if you like. He hangs out at Ron's place, A-1 Bait in Lewiston. Jim Gordan is another Charter Captain that has great credentials along with Captain Joe Augustiniak. All these guys rock when it come to bass too. Mark |
