Terry Swann - Fish Report - Formerly Ed's Bait Shop - Wilson

PERCH ARE IN!

The perch were hitting real good this morning in Wilson, at the piers and in the Harbor. Minnows are the bait of choice and you can dip your own right at the piers. There are plenty around. According to what I have been hearing, the bait shops don't have any Emeralds. Bait is very expensive also.

Due to the amount of gobys in the water, most people are using a double hook setup with a small split shot for weight and a bobber. This keeps the hooks off the bottom where the gobys hang out.

One guy at the piers had some nice 1 1/2 to 2 lb perch in his bucket. The guy fishing next to him was pulling them in about every minute or so and sometimes two at a time. See the pictures attached.

The guy sitting on the pier had some nice size perch in the bucket he was setting on.

Terry

IN ADDITION: Outdoors Niagara found perch fishing along the shore in the lake is super. Fishing at Two mile creek and also Four Mile gave up some dandies. Minnows.

Re: PERCH ARE IN!

The FARM AND GARDEN store, across from the Laundramat on main street has some minnows and worms. T&R's corner store (gas station) across the street from the bank, on main street, has worms, meal worms, etc. but no minnows. I beleive the Wilson Hardware store on main street also sell night crawlers and red worms.
The only place you can buy a License is at the Wilson Town Hall during normal business hours.

Those are the only places that I know of for now.

Terry

PS I don't beleive anyone has Emerald Minnows at this time.

By the way, the perch were hitting hot and heavy yesterday, all day long and again this morning. Right now they have slowed down. Minnows can be dipped right at the Breakwall near the piers in Wilson.
