Anyone effected by the hurricane?
I was just wondering if any or our classmates were effected by the devastation in any way. I am heartbroken when I watch the news shows. I am a teacher (currently unemployed ) and there is a possibility that some evacuees may come to Farmington so I have offered my help with childcare and getting them ready to enter our schools.

No, Fresno (the town just South of me) is ready for 400 evacuees. It's really hard to just sit and wait when there's so much to be done. I gave to the Red Cross and at church. My church, world wide, is giving anything collected in the month of September to the Hurricane evacuees through the Red Cross and Food Banks. Prayer is the thing I do most for the evacuees. |

I'm in Mobile, AL. We were effected by Katrina but are counting our bleesings compared to the damage surrounding us. We were without poser for 5 days, lost part of our roof and 2 50 year old oak trees. The news coverage and pics do not do the extent of the damage any justice whatsoever. It's been almost 4 months and there are still areas that look like war zones. Again am counting my blessings and making preparations for next years hurricane season. So glad I've found this website. Have been trying to get back in touch. |
