I guess there isn't much interest. This is one kind of fishing I'd like to try. I ran into a boardfisherman at Newport Beach (California) who had his board rigged with outriggers. Very cool! |

I'm hoping that everyone will come out of the woodwork as the water heats up. I would definitely like to see the WindanSea thing happen again this year. Bunch of folks are starting to boardfish out of northcounty as well. maybe we get a regional contest going ... re: outriggers I haven;t seen a turn-key system that could make an outrigger or stabilzer for a surfboard, but could easily see how you might want to build one. |

Well that sucks if it does'nt go off this year. I have been boardfishing for 35 years. I kayak fish also, but my passion is boardfishing. It's easy, low overhead and great to get out past the surf for a quick session. I fish mostly Carlsbad area, so if anyone wants to hookup give a shoutout. I fish mostly on Fridays. I have'nt seen outriggers on a surfboard, and personaly think that it takes the simplisity out of it, but to each his own.

I would like to give it a shot. Next month I'd be more than happy to head out to the San Diego area to meet up with an experienced boardfisher and get a few tips and gets some fishing in. Can we set it up? Thanks in advance. Hank |

Keep checking this site for an update. They usually don't have a date in mind til about mid June for the July Tourney if it happens this year.
