I maintain the Van Aken / Van Auken website at http://vanaken.org. We have quite a large following who have descended from one proson, Marinus Van Aken who came to Kingston NY in 1683. Van Akin is a variation of Van Aken. My own GGGGrandfather used Vanakin as well as some of his descendents so you may come from my line.
If you are interested in finding your ancestors send me as much information that you have on your parents, grandparents. Birth dates and maiden names of spouses helps. I have a book with 7000+ descendants of Marinus Van Aken which may help in connecting you to our group.
