Why aren't the Hills running for the Board of SAFE?

This question has been asked a number of times, and the answer is a very good one. The Hill's made a very sound decision that it would not be in the best interests of the Master Instructor program or SAFE for them to do so. In many professional organizations in which there is a certification function (whether professional or skills based), that function is carried out by a separate, autonomous, "arms length" organization. It can be very difficult to maintain the required neutrality and separation when the certification function is within the organization itself. So, with the formation of Master Instructors LLC, that arms length has been established, and both Sandy and JoAnn felt that that was where their effort should be devoted.

They will, of course, be actively involved with "being" members of SAFE and engaging in SAFE activities, but they are, in fact "directors" of Master Instructors, LLC.

Personally, with recent events in mind, I think that was a very wise choice on their part, and wise for SAFE as well.
