William Howard "Bill" Fortner died of natural causes at his home December 14, 2015. Bill was born March 25, 1946 in Louisiana. He grew up in Mountain Home and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, Kevin and Shane. His sons are strong and true. Bill's daughter, Melinda, is a fine woman with good sense. Bill's wife, Carmen, was a beautiful, hard headed Basque woman who proceeded him in death my three months. Some wonder if he just followed this woman that he loved. Bill had a first family from Moses Lake, Washington with his wife Linda. Their Children , Billy and Amanda, have prospered there with large families and grandchildren of their own. Bill worked as a cowboy and carpenter his life. His proudest accomplishment was when he was drafted and served in the US Army. He served with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Vietnam in 1967-68 as a long range recon infantry soldier. Bill lived long enough to have a strong faith in his Creator. He is gone now to be with the Spirit in the Sky

Sorry to hear the bad news, Joe. Bill and Carmen left us all too soon.
