I've always prefered cloth diapers with plastic pants but found it time consuming during clean up after a messing accident. My solution has been to use a thin, cheap disposable as a diaper liner. A few strategically placed pin holes for drainage to the outer cloth diaper and the problem was solved. If anyone knows of a commercially available regular diaper liner, please let me know. I've looked and there isn't one produced.
