The site of the Fort Van Auken is in Port Jervis and is now the Port Jervis Golf Club. There is a plaque on the clubhouse that gives a one sentence history of the fort but more information can be found in the Minnisink Historical Society in Port Jervis.


It was a stone farmhouse that was built to withstand attacks from the Indians and was successfully defended several times.
