I am trying to locate the historical papers of General Verplanck Van Antwerp, from Cedar County, Iowa. First a Major, inspector general, on the staff of Brigadier General James G. Blunt, Army of the Frontier, then transferred to the staff of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock, Van Antwerp was heavily involved in the fall of 1862 Arkansas campaign. He was originally from New York.
