am looking for any info on the iowa voluntiers from the ames area I have 13 letters and the diary of my grandfather Amos Pennington Ball from jefferson barracks mo. approx 1864 any help I would appreciate thank you

Amos P Ball b May 20 1825 Butler Ohio died Aug 17 1866 was with the 13th Iowa Inf Co B. His father was Amos Ball b 1799 Butler Ohio, Mother Nancy Pennington b 1803 Butler Ohio. Amos Ball Married Rebecca Jane Smith Aug 27 1846 Carroll Ind. Amos Ball buried in Cambridge Story Co. Iowa.

I am knew at this but I too am related to Amos Pennington Ball. I was wondering how you found his diary and if you would share any information in it.
