Does anyone know where I can get more information on the Iowa 7th Cav., Co. H, that served out of Fort Harker in 1863? My great-granddad, William E. Bates, served in that unit. I would like to know if there are any pictures of his company and how I could get a copy of it and any letters that may have been written by any of the men. He transferred to that unit and I cannot find out where he transferred from. He enlisted April 27, 1863. Thank you.
