As a family wishing to make an inflatable boat purchase for water-sports, what would be an entry level minimum HP requirement for skiing, tubing etc. I am looking at a maximum 12' to be carried on my minivan roof. We are all light weights (I weigh in at , and kids are aged 12 and 14.
skiing will be very hard to acomplish with a boat that size, specially because of the outboard size you'll be able to use.
Kneeboarding will be quite possible if you don't expect a lot from it and get the largest possible outboard your boat will support.
these boats have a lot of drag and are very sensitive to weight and load distribution.
Once you get it, you'll be amazed at its performance when boating alone compared to a couple of passengers, an ice chest and some sandwiches and fries.
