Welcome to the Civil War in the Trans-Mississippi! This is a place where all who share an interest in the Civil War fought west of the Mississippi River can gather to ask questions, share information, and announce news.
There are a series of letters written by Capt. John Myers of the 28th Iowa Infantry Co. K in the Butler Center at UALR in Little Rock, Arkansas. Here's the PDF file of its holding http://cdm15728.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/ref/collection/findingaids/id/420
Hope this helps. I plan to visit this library this summer to view these letters and get copies of them for my historical context research on what might have happened during this period with my great granduncle, Samuel Friend who served in Capt. Myers unit before he died after the Vicksburg siege.
Thank you very much for the reply. Yes, indeed there are three letters here that would be of interest to me; letters 22, 23 and 24. I will contact the center and see about obtaining copies.
Once again thank you.
Respectfully,
Gerald D. Hodge, Jr.
