Paul was a remarkable man, and his passing leaves a void in our community. There are just not enough men like him but perhaps amongst his mentees in years to come, because of the work done by him and the organisations that he committed himself to, there will be more.

If there is one word to sum up Paul it would be legacy, and he has certainly left one. He met his potential; he left a legacy. A king amongst men, those of us who he has left behind can be proud of the legacy that he has left and blessed to have known him.

If there is one way we can honour Paul it would be to support those organisations that he committed his time to, The 100 and Urban Synergy. Support them financially, support them with our skills and our time.

Sending my sincere condolences Paul\'s son Kaream, brother Hubert, Aunt Chungie, the wider Lawrence family and his fiancé Sherrine.

Rest in peace my friend.

Thank you for blessing me with your presence in my life.

I met Paul through a Facebook group and often enjoyed the banter we had, Paul was funny, articulate and straight to the point, I had the pleasure of meeting Paul when he came to Birmingham to speak at one of the Diasporas debating association meetings, I remember how he captivated the audience through the way he spoke with so much passion, Paul was one of those people that was truly \'one in a million\' he will be missed.

PAL
Paul Andrew Lawrence, you were my greatest teacher. I was never weak, but you managed to make me stronger. I had my own wisdom, but you made me wiser. I was never shy, but you made me bolder.

I called you ‘Paul Lawrence’ as if it was just one name, and you called me ‘Marjorie Henry’, that to you the same.

You made your presence felt - strong, loud and proud. Yet so quiet and soft spoken when you were at home.

Thirty-two years came and went in a blink; it’s hard to imagine, so strange...I think.

Together we were blessed with our greatest gift from God; Kaream Jean-Paul Lawrence.

Thanks for leaving such an awesome legacy for our son. You have done him exceedingly proud.

Rest in heavenly peace my brother in the Lord until our grand meeting in heaven. 💕🙏🏾💕

Writing this seem to real and so final ..was not quite ready to say goodbye..

But to behold the legacy and work of Paul i am supporting the request for tributes.

I met Paul while working in education in 2005 in a secondary school in Croydon. We as a school were struggling to engage a large group in vulnerable black males in the importance of education.

I remembered the day the students were informed of their adapted timetables to accommodate their weekly sessions with Paul. I remember a number of students eyes rolling.

The following week Paul arrived on site a polite guy , but you could see that he commanded respect from our students.

Paul was the Superman for these students , as during his initial session their was not eye rolling but only 100% engagement from our black boys . Paul just kept it real with them , spoke to them about real life, spoke to those boys who are now today\'s men, like he was a father to each and everyone of them . Paul could understand their pain , their shame, and their hurt.

We remained friends, I remember shortly before Paul passed away seeing , although socially distanced , we spoke about the pandemic , life , work , and we tried to right the wrongs of the world.

Paul you are a true gentlemen. A gentle giant. A true friend, and a great loss to us all.

My condolences to you all.

Audrey

The enormous grief I feel right now has been hard to express in words. My fiance\' Paul Andrew Lawrence was a loving,  kind, considerate, special individual and a fantastic life partner. His consistency and honesty was a natural part of his demeanour.  He was funny, articulate and a great conversationalist, his ability to negotiate,  plan and execute was admirable and his passion contagious. His actions matched his words, he was a visionary, purposeful with his actions and committed to our union. We trusted our journey and believed in our ability to create change. Paul often said strong relationships, create strong families and strong communities. I have lost my other half, my bestfriend, soul mate and my sweetie.. Rest peacefully my King .. Paul Andrew Lawrence 💔

Still feels surreal that Paul is no more.
I initially met Paul virtually and then in person via his various works with charities.
Paul was a big personality, outspoken, sarcastic, bold, passionate and most of all he cared about us. His work in our community is unparalleled. He stood head and shoulders, did the talk but most importantly Paul walked the walk. Paul was a leader a big brother to so many of us.
His sudden death shocked and affected me badly.
I had the pleasure of hosting my online event via jus tickets and Paul held my hand and made the process seamless. His customers service and support was 5 stars.
Paul you are missed deeply. Thank you for the positive impact you made in so many lives. Your legacy lives on King.🖤

I met Paul Lawrence some years ago at 100BMOL when I was a volunteer. My children were attendees. He was an inspirational man with a vision for our marginalised young people. He realised the need to have positive impacts on the black family and the black man in general. He was one in a million.

A life cut short. He will certainly be missed. RIP trouper. Your work remains incomplete but will be taken over by those who share your insightfulness and passion for the improvement and development of our youth.

I first met Paul Lawrence in 2011 when I went to an event at Barclays Global Headquarters in 2011 to hear Nathan John and Nathaniel Peat speak about entrepreneurship and young people, particularly young people of colour. I was interested in showcasing the talents of our young persons aged 18-30 through a series of my own events named YEAh Live.

This large imposing figure piped up when Spanish Town Jamaica was mentioned. I was seated behind him and thought \"Who is this guy?\" During a break at the event, he approached me and was curious to know about me and what I did. I explained what I wanted to do and he bluntly said \"You\'re just reinventing the wheel!\" He went on to list a string of organisations that did the same as what I proposed to do. He was however extremely supportive and helpful and very knowledgeable. I later found out he was a well known figurehead in the black community.

What I admired most about Paul was his consistency and dedication to his community. Paul never minced his words and certainly didn\'t suffer fools gladly. He always spoke the blunt truth even if it upset people. Behind this was a kind and caring soul who saw the best in people and also brought out the best in people even if he had to push you outside your comfort zone.

Paul will be sorely missed and I for one am still in shock and disbelief that such a larger than life character who had so many plans and vision for his community could actually pass away. It is a reminder that we are mere mortals but we have to make our mark and leave a legacy. And Paul Lawrence most certainly left  his.

May he RIEP.
